The Reedy Screen was formed from 10 mm window glass which was unearthed in a skip. This had yellowed with age and was scarred around its edges from many layers of paint. Both elements contributed to a unique end product, whose size was limited by the dimension of the kiln (120 x 100 cms).

This screen was suspended 20 cms in front of a textured and enamelled panel and lit from the front for Val's degree show. Interesting shadows danced across the rear panel and became an important aspect of the design.
