The Standing Stones could be equated to the glass equivalent of Action Painting. In this case recycled lead crystal glass cullet replaces the cans of emulsion paint. In the kiln the cullet is suspended over the flow area and as the temperature rises so the glass begins its intriguing journey to a revised format.

Valerie was interested in being able to trace the flow pattern of glass as it melted and became increasingly viscous. Various barriers were placed in the path of the molten glass, presenting it with hazards and obstacles. Exciting and often unexpected results occurred, leaving three dimensional tracks of the movements within the glass.

These stones can withstand outdoor conditions. Their multi dimensional qualities makes them respond magnificently to light, be it daylight or artificial. Shape, texture and size can all be readily adaptable to suit the situation.
